Handmade levels, a new puzzle every day — solo or with a partner, no in-app purchases.

Where you can get it today: Snaky is currently published in Germany on Google Play, and in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on the App Store. We are working on releasing it in more countries.

Tap neighbouring letters one after another, diagonals included. A lead word runs right across the word grid and gives away the theme.

No in-app purchases.
No advertising forced on you.

No subscription, no coins, no extra lives, no chests. No banners, no ads between levels. Advertising appears only when you choose it because you want an extra hint.

Hints are earned by playing

Valid words you spot along the way that weren’t on the list go into your hint store: five bonus words make one hint. Curiosity is rewarded rather than charged for.

How it plays

Just under a minute, no sound. German build.

Two players, one puzzle.
No account, no friends list.

No random matchmaking, no chat, no sign-up. You play with the person you give the code to — and with nobody else.

  1. The lobby in the app: the code HQH3N, the chosen level, and “waiting for guest”

    Open a match

Your device creates a lobby and receives a five-character code. You pick the level, language and difficulty included.

  2. The phone’s share sheet with the message “Komm in meine Snaky Lobby! Code: 2MDU9”

    Pass the code on

One tap on Senden and the code goes out — by message, mail, however you like. Anyone who taps the link and has Snaky installed lands straight in your lobby.

  3. A match in progress: the score reads “Du 3, Partner 2”, with found letters coloured blue and red

    Play

As soon as the second player joins, you both start the same puzzle. Whoever finds a word marks it for both of you: your finds appear as blue squares, theirs as red circles, with both scores labelled above.

Four colour themes

The same level, four ways. In two-player mode the two sides differ by shape as well as colour: your own finds are square tiles, your partner’s are circles. So it works just as well if you find colours hard to distinguish.

Your pace, your topics

153 English levels across three difficulties — relaxed, demanding, tricky — grouped into packs. There is also a daily puzzle that is the same for everyone, stars for each level, and five leaderboards.

Build your own level

Think up a theme, hide your words in the grid and send it to us. If it all works out, your level goes into the app — with your name on it. To the Creator Corner

The app’s home screen with the notice “Offline — progress is saved locally”

Works without a signal

On a plane, on the underground, out in the middle of nowhere. Snaky tells you it is offline and carries on — your progress stays on the device. An account is optional and only serves to carry your progress to a second device.

Common questions

Is Snaky free?

Yes. Snaky costs nothing, and there are no in-app purchases — no subscription, no coins, no extra lives.

Are there ads?

Only if you want one. Advertising appears as a voluntary reward video when you would like an extra hint, and a dialogue you can cancel always comes first. No banners, no ads between levels. Two-player mode has no advertising at all.

Can you play without an account?

Yes, completely. An account is optional and only serves to carry your progress to a second device. An anonymous identifier is assigned for the leaderboards.

How does two-player mode work?

One device opens a match and receives a five-character code. Whoever gets the code joins with it. You then solve the same word grid at the same time and see live what the other has found. Two players, no matchmaking with strangers, no chat, no friends list.

Does Snaky work offline?

Yes. Without a connection you carry on playing and your progress stays on the device. Two-player mode, leaderboards and cloud saves need a connection.

How many levels are there?

307 hand-made levels: 154 in German and 153 in English, across three difficulties — relaxed, demanding and tricky. On top of that, a new puzzle every day that is the same for everyone.

How do hints work?

You earn hints by playing: valid words that were not on the list fill your hint store — five bonus words make one hint. They cannot be bought; there is no currency in the game.

Which devices does Snaky run on?

On Android, free on Google Play, currently published in Germany. The iPhone and iPad edition is coming shortly.
